A hearty and flavorful pasta Bolognese perfect for a comforting dinner. Made with fresh vegetables, ground beef, and rich tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 3 small celery sticks (small diced)
  • 2 small carrot sticks (peeled and small diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Meat

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Sauce

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Pasta

  • 16 ounces Tagliatelle pasta (or any pasta of choice)

Garnish

  • Chopped parsley for serving

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil and sauté vegetables for 10 minutes until soft.
  • Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour in milk, simmer until mostly evaporated, about 10 minutes.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, bay leaf, oregano, and nutmeg. Simmer uncovered for 30-60 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water, serve topped with sauce and chopped parsley.

Notes

For a richer flavor, simmer the sauce longer and add grated Parmesan cheese when serving.
